Apart from the organization of the World
Slavic Congress, there are also cultural meetings under almost the same name. One should
not confuse the two. To keep things clear, on this page we inform about the cultural
meetings also known as the International Slavic Conference or Congress. The Slavistic academinc/cultural group known as the Slavic Conference, has been meeting every 5 years (more or less since 1929) in various Slavic cities. The 12th consecutive Slavic Congress was held from August 27 to September 2, 1998, in Krakow, Poland. The focus of this group are cultural and academic matters.
